There is a captivating history to the Cambodia gambling dens that sit just across the border from nearby Thailand, in which gambling hall betting is prohibited. Eight casinos are anchored in a relatively small space in the city of Poipet in Cambodia. This group of Cambodia casinos is in an excellent location, a 3 to 4 hour drive from Bangkok and Macao, the 2 most popular wagering centers in Asia. Cambodia gambling dens do a huge business with Thai blue-collar workers and visitors from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a few Westerners. The amazing capital gained from the casinos ranges from $7.5 million to more than 12.5 million, and there are a number of limitations constraints for casino ownership. Ownership is required to be mostly Thai; although, financing sources are cryptic. The borders are officially open from 09:00 to 1700, and though visas are allegedly required to pass, there are means around this, as is accurate of many borders.

The first Cambodia gambling dens opened in Phnom Penh in 1994, but were forced to close in 1998, leaving just a single casino in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, an anchored bateau gambling hall, highlights one hundred and fifty one armed bandits and 60 tables. The Naga gambling den never closes with forty two tables of mini-baccarat chemin de fer, four tables of vingt-et-un, 10 of roulette, two of Caribbean Stud Poker, and a single table each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The initial gambling den in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, opened in the late nineties and the Golden Crown before long opened. There are one hundred and fifty one armed bandits and 5 tables at the Golden Crown and 104 slot machines and sixty eight gaming tables at the Holiday Palace. The latest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort features 300 one armed bandits and 70 table games and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has one hundred and sixty six slot machines and 96 gaming tables, including eighty seven baccarat chemin de fer (the most popular game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. In addition, there is the Casino Tropicana, with one hundred and thirty five slots and sixty six of the common tables, as well as 1 table of Casino Stud Poker. One more of the eight gambling halls in Poipet, again a part of a motel, is the Princess Casino with 166 one armed bandits and 97 games. The Star Vegas Casino is is located in a comprehensive resort and hotel complex that highlights a number of comforts in addition to the casino, which offers 10,000 sq.ft. of 130 slot machine games and eighty eight tables.
